About this policy
This policy describes information handled through octaxfiling.com and general inquiries to OC Tax Filing. Our office is at 3001 Red Hill Avenue, Suite 6-210, Costa Mesa, CA 92626. For privacy questions, email [email protected] or call (949) 712-5429.
This website notice does not replace a client privacy notice, an engagement agreement or any consent required for tax return information. Ask your preparer about the procedures that apply before sharing client records.
Information you provide
The inquiry tool asks for your name, email address, optional phone number, subject and message. When online submission is enabled, these entries are sent to our server and passed to Resend to deliver your inquiry to our business email. The form does not save a copy in browser storage or a website inquiry database.
Selecting Send message submits the inquiry through our email delivery provider. Resend and our receiving email provider process the message and related delivery records. If submission is unavailable, you can use the direct email or phone links. Those channels share information you choose to provide.
Do not include Social Security numbers, bank details, identification documents or tax returns in a general inquiry. This website has no tax-document upload portal.
Technical information and cookies
The website host and delivery or security providers may process IP addresses, browser information, requested pages, timestamps and error information to serve the site and investigate technical problems.
The website application does not set advertising or analytics cookies and has no advertising pixels or cross-site tracking integrations. Hosting or access-control services may use necessary cookies and logs. Their handling depends on the hosting service used.
The website application does not change its behavior in response to Do Not Track signals. It does not have a sale-of-data or cross-context advertising feature. Third-party sites you open, such as Google Maps, apply their own tracking and privacy practices.
How inquiry information is used
Information you send is used to answer your question, discuss the preparation services you request, arrange a conversation and maintain records of that communication. Technical information supports site delivery, troubleshooting and security.
Sending an inquiry does not authorize unrelated use or disclosure of your tax return information. Do not send client documents until the appropriate sharing method has been confirmed.
Retention and security
The inquiry tool does not retain entries in a website database. The server temporarily tracks hashed email identifiers and request counts in memory to limit repeated submissions. Email content and delivery metadata are also handled by Resend and the receiving email provider under their retention practices. Emails and call-related records are handled separately from the website. Retention depends on the purpose of the communication, ongoing service needs and applicable recordkeeping duties. Contact us to ask about particular records or request deletion where available.
No internet communication method is guaranteed completely secure. Avoid including sensitive financial or identity records in ordinary email. Ask about the agreed client-document process before sending them.
Your choices and requests
You can browse without completing the inquiry fields. You can choose not to submit the form, manage cookies in your browser, or call instead of emailing.
To ask about access to, correction of or deletion of information you provided, email [email protected], call (949) 712-5429, or write to our Costa Mesa office. We may need to verify your request without collecting unnecessary sensitive information. Available rights and exceptions depend on the law that applies, including duties to retain certain records.
Tax return information
Client tax information is subject to additional legal restrictions. A general website inquiry is not consent for a tax preparer to use or disclose tax return information for unrelated purposes. Any legally required consent must be handled separately.
Before becoming a client, ask about the preparer's privacy notice, providers and document-handling procedures. This website is not a substitute for those arrangements.
Children and dependent information
This website is intended for adults seeking tax preparation information. Children under 13 should not submit personal information. Information about dependents needed for a client's return should be provided through the agreed client-document process.
If you believe a child has sent personal information through a general inquiry, contact [email protected].
Policy changes
Updates will be posted on this page with a revised effective date. If a change requires additional notice or consent, that notice or consent must be provided before the relevant change in use. Review this policy before sharing information.
